Irish Times article on Web2Ireland

admin 5th of May 2006 by admin

John Collins has an excellent piece in today’s Irish Times – following up from last weeks Web2Ireland event.

“One or two of the Irish companies in this space may sell out to a bigger player for a nice multiple. Others may generate a healthy income for their founders and a small team of staff. Whatever the outcome, the State agency seems to have cottoned on that Web 2.0 is an ideal tag to market the next generation of innovative Irish software companies.”

The Web 2.0 Evolution

admin 3rd of May 2006 by admin

A thought provoking piece from Rowan following on from last weeks Web2Ireland event.

The event last week was orientated around the “business aspects” of the Web2.0 movement – and Rowan does raise some interesting points.

I think we should look at some of the activities that are happening around the world

- a Barcamp in Ireland
- a MashupCamp
- a StartupSchool

Bottom line is we need more events that bring people together that will make “stuff” happen and create great businesses.
